Church Street and the Globe Inn
This part of Church Street was demolished in about 1964. During demolition, a mural painting of a sailor dancing a hornpipe was discovered on a wall in the Globe Inn.
The van in the forground is a Bedford CA Dormobile which belonged to Mr. Vince Miles, the landlord of the Globe. The car next to the van is a Humber Supersnipe which belonged to Mr. John Reeves (alias “Black John”).
