  • My Grandfather William Ivor Jones worked for VFS, he lost the use of an arm serving with the British Army on the Somme, known as “coffin Jones” as he became a coffin maker, my father Gordon John Jones, his first born, also worked as a “boy” there, I believe at Carpenters yard, doing all the jobs that today would be regarded as “exploitive” by our liberal minded politicians, and became a carpenter of high regard by all that employed him.
